Thank you A Solar Solution for a fantastic job on our custom home! Your product knowledge was extensive and un-comparable in the window film industry. We compared the Heat Shield product with 3M's Night Vision film and were absolutely amazed by the difference in performance. A Solar Solution's window film options allowed us to customize our home's needs in various rooms with the perfect balance of light and solar efficiency. We appreciated your promptness on the job and very smooth expert application process. An added bonus of working with A Solar Solution was we were the first home in the Denver Metro area to use the new Heat Shield clear window film product. The Heat Shield clear film product reduced our extensive heat load, glare and fade concerns however maintained the clarity of our windows. We are confident the Heat Shield window film will also reduce sun damage on our wood window, cabinetry and floors. With the Heat Shield clear window film we were able to accommodate our objective of sustaining our window views while still allowing for great UV and Infrared solar protection. Untill we had the Duralux put on our skylight windows, we literally cooked. Our room temperature was about 100 degrees. After the Duralux was applied, we now enjoy a cool pleasant room.

One of our recent house projects was aimed at dealing with the Colorado sun. The key reason for this was a desire to get rid of the heat pockets around our windows when the sun was in its afternoon path. The options we considered were (1) new blinds, (2) solar screens, and (3) window film. After a lot of research, we decided that new blinds wouldn’t really help the situation, plus without some protection from the outside, the blinds would just continue to take a beating. After looking at several houses with solar screens, we could see that the screen material would start to sag rather quickly, and the almost black windows are not as visually pleasing from the outside as those with window film. (Obviously, this is just one opinion.) In addition, looking out through the solar screens does not provide as crisp of a view, so in the end we focused our attention on the window film.

The real question was does the film help with the heat, and the answer is emphatically “yes”. After having the film for a couple of weeks, there is a significant difference around the windows. While the specs say that 50-60% of the heat was blocked, my perception is that the air around the windows is 30-40% cooler, and the heat pockets throughout the house are virtually gone. In addition, when we arrive home at a time when the program is set high, the house is not unbearable, and my rough calculations say the house is 5-8 degrees cooler than it was prior to the film. That doesn’t sound like much but consider how long it takes for an air conditioner to drop the temperature that many degrees.

In the end, the cost was in the $1500 range for all the windows from A Solar Solution, Inc., and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a refund check from the IRS for making energy saving improvements, so the cost was reduced by about a hundred dollars. As an added bonus, the glare on the TVs throughout the house has been decreased to a point that is it not noticeable; consequently, HD looks just that much better.

Dear Judd,

A few months ago I contacted you and requested that A Solar Solution install 3M's Nightvision 35. Prior to installation, you made recommendations of other products; however I was comfortable with the 3M name and asked specifically to have their film installed. Immediately after the installation I noticed that my rooms were much darker than before and to compensate for this change in lighting, I had to use more lamps, etc. than usual. I also noticed that one of the windows had already cracked!!

I contacted you and discussed my concerns. I was very impressed with your concern and willingness to address my issues. You took the initiative to meet with me personally and demonstrate all of the products available using your state of the art testing equipment. I was shocked by the poor performance of the 3M film. Ultimately, we jointly agreed on a product that lets in twice the light while blocking a similar amount of heat.

Patagonia Downtown Denver has had A Solar Solution, Inc. service our Anti-Graffiti needs for several years now. We contacted them to install Anti-Graffiti film on our windows. Judd Coe from A Solar Solution, Inc. installed a 3M 4mil Anti Graffiti Film. Upon further observation of the product we noticed it was very grainy and not optically clear. We contacted A Solar Solution, Inc. and we decided to try a different product, Johnson 4mil. Defender. We noticed an immediate difference between the two films and asked A Solar Solution, Inc. to install the Johnson on our complete store. We have had the film in service for three years now and our very happy with A Solar Solution, Inc.
